Message from the President

I hope you all had a blessed holiday and a chance to ring in the New Year with friends and family. I know I did, and I am contemplating going back to work with mixed feelings. Did you make any resolutions? I’m not telling!

This might be a good time to make a resolution about Newcomers. This wonderful club is run by a small group of hard working, dedicated women. The New Year would be a great time to step up your involvement. Our Conveners are being asked to attend an important meeting to talk about our activity groups and about convening, in general, on Thursday, January 24th, at my home (see inside the Newsletter for details). If you signed up for one of the activity groups in September, and that group has not yet formed, or if you have a new idea for a group, please join us. There’s no commitment, just an opportunity to find out what’s involved.

Winter in Edmonton can be a time for family fun, in spite of the cold. Our Program Director, Karen, is planning some fun things to keep us active this winter, so check out tubing and cross-country skiing events in January and February. And be sure to have a look at our website. We try to provide links for most of the ‘Around Town’ and ‘Forum’ items where you can get more detailed information.

I’m looking forward to catching up with you and finding out about your holidays. Hope to see you at the monthly evening social on the 16th or at President’s coffee on the 21st. Stay warm!!

Yours in friendship,

Amy Nelson
