Message from the President

But seriously, spring is a time for change and Newcomers is no exception to the spring rule. In May we will elect a new Executive Board to take over at the end of the summer. During the month of April, I urge each of you to consider what you might be able to do for Newcomers next year, as we put together a slate of officers and begin to search out conveners for next year.

April is also going to be a fun month for Newcomers. Of course there's spring break-the best ever excuse for getting out of town, preferably to some place warm. And then there's the Girls' Weekend in Banff. We will join our Alumnae and the Calgary Club for a weekend of fun and games in Banff. I'm really looking forward to finally meeting some of our newer members face to face. A few spots have opened up through cancellations, so if you are new or have changed your mind about coming, check out the info inside this Newsletter.

Further proof of imminent spring is gardening. Yes, even in April, you can get your gardening fix at Cannor Nursery. They offer a program where you plant your pots for outdoors now and leave them in Cannor's greenhouse until it's time to put them out. Check inside for specifics and watch your email for an update nearer the end of the month, because Cannor hasn't finalized their plan as of this writing. So enjoy the steadily improving weather and check out all of this month's events inside the Newsletter.

Yours in friendship,

Amy Nelson
